The Global Phosphorus Institute is seeking a Value Chain Chemical Analyst. The main duties include
reviewing diverse sources of technical information related to phosphate mineral and chemical
processing, including scientific publications, reports from stakeholders, industry, regulatory
agencies, scientific institutions, and others. This information is used to develop informational
summaries, documents and recommendations that aid the Global Phosphorus Institute to contribute
to development of sustainable use of phosphorus.
Responsibilities
- Process Evaluation: Analyze mineral and chemical processes of raw materials treatment,
identifying strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
-Comparative Analysis: Conduct comparative studies of different processes, evaluating their
efficiency, environmental impact, and resource utilization.
-Evaluate the quality of products derived from chemical and mineral processes and assess their
suitability for specific applications.
-Problem Identification and Resolution: Investigate complex issues related to raw material
availability, environmental sustainability, and processes efficiency. Analyze and evaluate
innovative solutions to address these challenges.
-Data Analysis: Utilize advanced data analysis techniques to extract meaningful insights from
process data, facilitating informed decision-making.
-Environmental Impact Assessment: Assess the environmental impact of mineral and chemical
processes, highlighting possible measures to minimize carbon footprint and enhance
sustainability.
-Engagement with Partners: Foster relationships with various stakeholders and participate in
conferences to represent GPI and gather insights on the latest technological advancements in the
field.
-Technology Monitoring: Conduct regular technology reviews to enrich the institute's databases
and share pertinent findings with relevant external entities.

Profile recherché

Requirement:
-Education: Engineering or master’s degree in chemistry or related field.
-Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience in chemical or mineral processing analysis, preferably
in an industrial setting. Knowledge of the phosphate industry is considered a strong asset.
-Proficiency in processes analysis tools and techniques.
-Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
-Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and develop innovative solutions.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey technical findings
and recommendations.
-Excellent skills in research, analysis, and structuring of information.
-In-depth knowledge of mineral and chemical processes analysis tools and methodologies.
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
-Experience in environmental science, fertilizers or agriculture field is a plus.
-Willingness and ability to travel internationally.
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills, especially to discuss scientific issues
related to phosphorus.
