KeResearch Scientist in Sustainable Materials Development and Industrial By-Product Valorization.

Area of Research:

  • Synthetic Inorganic Chemistry
  • Inorganic and sustainable Chemistry
  • Inorganic Materials and recycling
  • Valorization of industrials waste and by-products.

Key duties:

  • Conduct advanced research in Sustainable Inorganic Chemistry and Materials Sciences.
  • Specialize in the development and advanced characterization of sustainable materials, including cementitious materials, valorization of industrial by-products, and natural resources.
  • Focus on optimizing the physico-chemistry of cementitious systems.
  • Collaborate with current faculty members in related fields and actively contribute to interdisciplinary research collaborations within the MSN department and UM6P's ecosystem.
  • Engage professionally with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students across the university and externally.

Required Skills:

The candidate must have demonstrated research excellence in one or more of the following disciplinary fields:

  • Scientific achievements in inorganic chemistry, in publications from international journals,
  • Synthesis, preparative purification techniques and structural characterization of inorganic materials and recycling (SEM/EDS, XRD, IR, XRF, UV-Vis, TGA/DTA/DSC, Materials resistances) is expected.
  • Research productivity in by-products valorization, Inorganic chemistry, or closely related fields.
  • Ability to plan and execute multi-step synthetic schemes to access target materials.
  • Develop new sustainable methodologies for the synthesis of existing as well as new materials.
  • Excellent lab skills and background in inorganic synthesis are essential.
  • Experience with purification & extraction of inorganic/organometallic compounds.

Profile recherché

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in materials science, civil engineering, chemical engineering, physical chemistry, or related fields. Candidates with expertise in these areas are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • At least two years of postdoctoral research experience or industrial experience in inorganic chemistry and sustainable materials synthesis.
  • A strong track record of over 10 high-quality publications in the last two years, in leading international and well ranked journals, preferably on the development of materials for the application in Construction and building materials,
  • An H-index higher than 10.
  • Possess excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Capacity to generate new ideas and passion to solve challenging problems that require complex creative solutions.
