About the Social Innovation Lab (SIL):

The Social Innovation Lab (SIL) at UM6P is dedicated to fostering social, human, and territorial development through innovative research and action. We engage in co-construction with communities, and a wide network of experts and partners to address socio-economic needs and develop impactful solutions. Our work spans areas such as education, employment, digital inclusion, social entrepreneurship, cultural valorization, women's empowerment, and sustainable development across local, national, and African contexts.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Research Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of both French and English, with exceptional writing and research capabilities. Experience in project management will be highly valued. Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply for this position, the selected candidate will benefit from comprehensive onboarding sessions designed to acquaint him with SIL's methodologies, projects, and team dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis in various domains related to social innovation.

  • Assist in the co-definition of socio-economic needs with communities and stakeholders.

  • Support the development and implementation of projects.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams comprising researchers, professionals, and development agents.

  • Contribute to the documentation and evaluation of projects’ outcomes.

  • Assist in knowledge management and the dissemination of findings and best practices.

Profile recherché

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.

  • Fluent in French and English, with excellent writing and communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience in research methods and analysis.

  • Competency in project management is highly desirable but not mandatory.

  • Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for research and project management.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking.

  • Commitment to SIL's mission and values.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with communities and diverse stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of sustainable development practices and socio-economic development policies and strategies.
