Job Description
The AGC is currently accepting applications for a Genomics Assistant position with a duration of 6 months. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting wet lab work, encompassing tasks such as nucleic acid extraction, electrophoresis, DNA quantification, PCR, library preparation, media preparation, and more.
Situated within the African Genome Center, this facility houses OMICS Platforms designed to act as a central hub for collaborative research and training. These platforms foster a unified scientific community and provide the essential infrastructure necessary to facilitate cutting-edge OMICS approaches. The overarching goal is to address challenges in food security, agriculture, conservation, mine restoration, as well as human and animal health in Morocco and Africa.
We are actively seeking candidates who are highly motivated and possess experience in molecular biology and genomics, or related fields. Given the multifaceted nature of the challenges at hand, successful candidates should be prepared to employ a diverse range of approaches in a transdisciplinary manner. Any relevant experience in this capacity will be highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Gather and perform experimental activities related to agriculture, health, and environment.
- Support the team with wet lab technical related needs
- Support the team with all high-performance computing needs
Profile recherché
Minimum requirement
Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, genomics or related fields.
Necessary skill
Experience in nucleic acid extraction, electrophoresis, DNA quantification, PCR, library preparation, etc.
