Job Title: Research Assistant in biorefining and Biomass Valorization
Job description:
African Sustainable Agriculture Research Institute (ASARI) at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) is seeking applications for a full-time Research Assistant in the field of Biorefining and Biomass Valorization.
Candidates should hold a master’s degree (Bac +5) with a professional experience in biorefining and biomass valorization. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing scientific research in the laboratory and organize/carry out field work.
Key duties:
Successful candidate is expected to:
- Have a good experience in lab/field work.
- Knowledge and familiarity with biomass pre-treatment; biomass conversion, and high value-added products from algae and lignocellulosic materials
- Assist in organizing and launching research activities.
- Collect, support and process samples for routine laboratory tests.
- Contribute to general laboratory management and logistics.
- Contribute to the writing of scientific documents (reports, articles…)
- Validate and document analytical methods and operating procedures.
- Strong French and English communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.

Criteria of the candidate:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, chemical engineering, Biotechnology, Biorefining or Biomass valorization from a recognized University.
- Strong laboratory skills, ideally with skills in Biorefining and biomass valorization.
- Able to carry out field work.
- Able to learn new practical and theoretical skills quickly.
- Positive working attitude and ability to work both in a team and independently.
