Job Description:
We are seeking a Research Assistant with a strong background in integrated planning and territorial development to support a strategic research initiative. The project focuses on fostering balanced development by addressing the intersections of rural and urban planning, leveraging innovative methodologies, and engaging diverse stakeholders. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to action-oriented research. The Research Assistant is a research/application role based on conducting a specified project of research supported by research funds under the supervision and direction of a Principal Investigator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution research project assigned to, under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
- Organize meetings, workshops, and field visits, ensuring effective communication and progress tracking with the research team.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work plans, progress reports, and funding applications.
- Assist in the conceptualization and implementation of initiatives that enhance the role of rural settlements as catalysts for territorial growth.
- Develop materials such as presentations, reports, and case studies to communicate project outcomes effectively.
- Conduct studies of related literature and research to support the design and implementation of projects and development of reports, ensuring conceptual relevance, comprehensiveness, and currency of information.
- Write and publish articles in peer-reviewed journals/digests that highlight findings from research and experimental activities ensuring consistency with the standards of academic publication.
- Communicate to the research project team the development, progress and results of research activities ensuring that relevant information and issues in the implementation of projects/experiments are captured in as comprehensive and timely a manner as possible.
Profile recherché
Qualifications:
- Master's in Urban Planning, Architecture, Geography, Environmental Studies, or a related field, with expertise in territorial development and integrated planning.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex spatial data.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills in English, French and Arabic, with experience in writing reports, presentations, and facilitating stakeholder workshops.
