Position: Research Assistant in Thermochemical Biomass Conversion and Its Applications.
Duration: 6 months (CDD).
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Research Assistant to join our esteemed team at the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences within the AgroBiosciences Program at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Benguerir, Morocco. You will play a vital role in advancing research related to the thermochemical conversion of biomass and its applications in agronomic, and bioremediation.
As a successful candidate you will be actively involved in various research activities including laboratory and field experiments to evaluate the performance and significant impact of contribution of pyrolysis products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, and execute experiments on the thermochemical conversion (pyrolysis devices) of biomass to produce biochar and activated biochar.
- Perform analyses and characterization of different pyrolysis products: biochar, bio-oil, and syngas (GC-MC, LCMS, HPLC, Flash Chromatography, fractionation of pyrolytic bio-oil etc....).
- Perform adsorption experiments.
- Perform agronomic experiments using biochar-based fertilizer.
- Perform detailed statistical analyses and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
- Maintain comprehensive records of experimental procedures, data, and results for future reference and publication.
Profile recherché
Desired skills and experiences:
- Master’s degree, or engineering degree in bioprocess, thermochemical process, environmental science, or a related field.
- Previous experience of conducting experiments related to thermochemical biomass conversion.
- Previous experiences in adsorption (batch, dynamic) and agriculture experiments are highly recommended.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary research environment.
