Multinational is recruiting a Financial Controller.

Financial Controller plays a key role in implementing and maintaining controls and accounting systems which safeguard the company’s assets and properly record its liabilities, ensuring delivery of correct and completes financial and management accounting information including, statutory, fiscal and other local reporting requirements. He/She is accountable for the communication and coordination between Accounting dep. and the Operations/CoB. She/he will be responsible for accountants and A/P, A/R, Fixed assets, Tax and stocks departments as they relate to the service of the financial reporting and transactional accounting of the company. Accomplishes tasks with particular emphasis on customer service and seeks to add value for the company’s managers.
Furthermore, FC is responsible for ensuring a robust controls framework operating in compliance with the controls requirements. This requires working with the central team, Business Finance, Business, Corporate controllers and external parties including external consultants, external auditors, fiscal authorities etc.

Principal Accountabilities

o Primarily responsible Accounting Policy & Compliance in SAP S4 HANA environment

o Manage 11 staff in the following areas: Fixed Asset Accounting, Stock Accounting, Management Tax, Accounting, Financial and GL Accounting

o Manage the performance of subordinates (job description, performance contract, competence profile /development, IDP, values).

o Responsible for knowing critical functions within controlling department and capable of mentoring and assisting (direct and indirect) employees within the department.

o Ensure that all bank and balance sheet accounts are duly, regularly and promptly reconciled.

o Ensure that the results of the operations of the company are reported to the shareholders in compliance with relevant legal obligations and that generally there is compliance with all local regulations in those areas within his remit.

o Ensure that returns to the Group are promptly made.

o Authorize daily the transactions in SAP.

o Utilize teamwork to develop departmental synergy with direct and indirect reports.

o Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and company procedures.

o Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.

o Assures compliance with local and corporate policies, regulations and laws.

o Reviews accounts payables and weekly check runs.

o Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits.

o Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to general ledger accounts, cost centers and documents business transactions.

o Responsible for distributing financial statements and cost center reports.

o Prepares work papers and supporting schedules for the annual financial review.

o Staff management and development.

o Analyze transactional processes and identify areas where additional accuracies and efficiencies can be achieved.

o Ensure integrity of all financial information.

o Adheres to internal and external deadlines for monthly closing for the entity.

o Applies cost accounting methods to achieve accurate representation of cost center performance.

o Responsible for holding manufacturing plant management accountable for accuracy and timeliness of inventory controls and cost controls.

o Responsible for integrating/consolidating JVs financials in financial statements

o Assist FM to prepare the company annual budget and provide internal reports, which assist management in the steering of the business.

o Conduct specified projects relating to accounting systems, and accounting policies.

o Assist other departments in a wide range of commercial activities which call upon the incumbent’s financial expertise.

o Coordinate monthly closing process and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.

o Advise FM on tax matters

o Responsible for all taxes obligations, required by external bodies in relation to Direct Tax

o Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.

o Develop and implement various accounting procedures.

o Preparation of the statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS.

o Work with both internal and external auditors during financial and operational audits.

o Maintain Chart of Accounts (CoA) and keep records on all company transactions and assets.

o Own and maintain Security Access Strategy and Segregations of Duties Standards

Profile recherché

o Finance/economics bachelor or master’s degree or similar knowledge via work experience

o financial accounting with an emphasis on fit for purpose controls

o Accounting Policies and Standards

o Applying Accounting Principles

o Generic Accounting Practices

o Local Accounting policies and fiscal law and regulations

o Development and Implementation of Risk Management and Internal Control Systems

o Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably JDE/Umoja

o Team or project lead experience

o Fluent in French and English

o Strong problem solving skills in non-routine situations

o Ability to (virtually) work & collaborate in cross-company, cross-functional and multi-cultural teams. The incumbent will be involved in/with a wide variety of finance activities/staff, hence good communication and connectivity skills will be a clear strength of the successful candidate.

o High ability to work under pressure
